John S. Sumner, Jr.
John Sumner is manager of our Charlotte, North Carolina office. He has over 20 years experience in senior level management
positions, which include two Fortune 100 companies and smaller businesses. His general management experience has concentrated
in turnaround divisions and new business development.
Prior to joining TRG, John headed his own consulting firm specializing in adding economic value to underperforming
companies. Prior to his consulting practice, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer for a start-up new non-woven business.
John has held senior level management positions with Kimberly-Clark and Johnson and Johnson.
John's recent engagements include a large textile company, an outdoor apparel manufacturer, a gas distribution business, a 'dot com'
health care company and a regional hospital. He has experience in numerous industries including health care, textiles, apparel, consumer
products manufacturing and printing & packaging. His experience includes extensive work in Europe, Latin America, the Far East and
Africa as well as domestic industries.
John holds a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from Georgia State University.
