Case Study: Textile ManufacturerCompany: $50 million specialty textiles manufacturer with multiple national & international locations.Situation/ Tasks Performed: TRG was retained by the Company at bank’s request to evaluate the company’s 2002 financial plan, comment on plan achievability, evaluate company’s short-term cash needs and provide company management with recommendations for increasing profitability and enhancing liquidity. TRG produced a report covering these issues that showed that the company had failed to meet financial forecasts in prior years, was running out of cash & was asking bank to use asset sale proceeds to fund working capital. Results: The bank was very receptive to TRG’s findings. Initially, the Company was unhappy with TRG’s conclusions, then came to appreciate that it was a fair assessment that assisted in negotiations with the lender. Company has subsequently used TRG’s presentation to attract an alternative lending institution.
