Case Study: Construction CompanyViability Analysis, Turnaround Plan Development and ImplementationCompany: $100 million construction company specializing in cable and wiring installation for the Telecom and Wireless industry.Situation / Tasks Performed: The Company was the largest subsidiary of its parent and was operating unprofitably, draining significant amounts of cash out of its parent company. Due to poor reporting, record keeping and accounting practices, the Company was unable to accurately assess job profitability. TRG was hired to offer the Company assistance by developing cash flow forecasting, analyzing job revenue and costing and recommending management changes and other operational improvements. Within two days of arriving, TRG discovered that work-in-process had been grossly overstated and quickly determined that the Company had lost millions more than had been reported to either the Company's shareholders or the Bank. Results: TRG assisted in the reorganization of management. The President and CFO have been replaced and certain regional jobs have been shutdown. TRG continues to work with the Company to maximize profitability and limit cash losses.
